Why Small Business Shouldn’t Ignore Social Media

Normally we’ll write based either on something we’ve read or an idea we’ve had.  This time however, we’re going to post a link so you can read the full original article.

The article in question speaks to why your small business can’t ignore social media.  In a nutshell:

  • The information is there for the taking.  It’s there, period.  People use social media to voice an opinion, talk about an experience or mention a business.  To ignore it on your end is foolish at best.
  • It doesn’t have to be complicated.  You don’t have to have a full multimedia experience every single time you post something.  The “I don’t know computers” excuse isn’t really valid any longer.
  • Small is good.  As a small business you can respond to mentions wherever they may be.  Yes it takes a little time.  Key phrase here is little.  Keep it simple, respond in kind and it will do wonders for you.
